The importance of installation and maintenance of cross universal coupling:
1, cross universal coupling installation, should be in accordance with the requirements of the drawings, detection of stop and end face coupling size error, flange bolt hole distribution error and universal coupling coaxiality error, pay attention to the distribution of the orientation and the original phase, in principle, both ends of the coupling can be used as the active shaft, but the spline mating should be far away from the source of vibration or impact source.
2, nuts and bolts and other fasteners need to meet the requirements of the mechanical properties of the grade, tighten the nuts in the threads can be slightly injected into the adhesive, in the loaded operation to a class, and then check whether the bolt is loose, and to prevent the standard tightening torque to tighten again, and so repeat two shifts to prevent loosening.
3, assembly, according to the disassembly of the reverse order, should pay attention to the spline shaft and spline sleeve two phases of the same, assembly of the cross shaft should be adjusted shims, to ensure that the fork head centerline and the centerline of the cross shaft coaxial tolerance. The offset is less than 0.05 ~ 0.1mm, the smaller the specification to take a small value, while maintaining the clearance between each shaft end and the gasket between 0.06 ~ 0.12mm, to prevent excessive inter-axis runout.

4、Spline and universal coupling bearings should be lubricated regularly, normally use No.2 industrial lithium grease; in high temperature is suitable to use No.4 synthetic lithium grease, No.3 or No.4 calcium-based grease.
At the beginning of the maintenance, oiling once a month for three months, after the working condition is stabilized, oiling once every three months, oiling once a week under high temperature condition.
5, usually universal coupling in operation after half a year for maintenance, the specific time depending on the conditions of use, operation found vibration, abnormal sound, oil leakage, etc., should be immediately shut down for inspection.
6, maintenance carefully check the parts, cross shaft and bearing rolling surface whether pitting, spalling, wear and indentation, indentation more than 0.25mm, gasket wear greater than 0.35mm should be replaced.
After cleaning other parts in the same oil pan, the bearings and cross shaft cannot be cleaned, blow dry with compressed air after cleaning, and gasoline and wire brush are not allowed when cleaning.
7、Adjust the cross shaft by 180 degrees each time when disassembling, so that the cross shaft journals can be used alternately to increase the use of universal coupling length.
